a little catch-up

Some fun news...
Christmas was Great! Break was great... I love my family and friends.
For some reason I am watching The Bachelor right now and have never seen it before- its pretty weird.
Scott got into Medical School!! We are so excited!!
My roommate is pregnant and might have her baby within the next week (at the most)! It will be so exciting to see Mick!
& School is really busy...
Well... that is the small amount of news for now.
Maybe I will get into posting soon.

Kickboxing is my new favorite.

People are wonderful- God's creation. Its amazing, I constantly find it amazing how you can learn so much by listening- listening to someone open their heart, secrets and mind to you I think is one of the greatest gifts a friend can give you. Completely understanding someone's story, even partly understanding, allows you to truly see from their point of view... and to see from someone else's point of view never allows room for judgment. A professor asked me today on my test, as an extra credit question, if you could sit down with 2 people and have a one-on-one talk with them who would it be? No lie, it was one of the hardest questions I have been asked in a long time- actually I think I spent the most time on it or at least tied for one other problem. I didn't answer it truthfully partly because I didn't want this man to know this side of me, the deepness of my thoughts. But if I had a chance, I would sit down with every single person I know and have not only one one-on-one with them but many one-on-ones that include laughter, tears, secrets and fears. I love understanding people's stories, it is fascinating to me.

It makes a difference in my life when someone truly asks how things are in my life and is willing to hear the answer. I can only imagine it is the same for someone else. I just ask to do that for someone else, anyone else. Open your arms and your mind and listen to a friend talk.

I love you all, truly.

Advent Calendars...

I have to blog about my advent calendar... I have had one ever since I can remember and waking up to eat our yummy chocolates. We used to compete to see who could get up the earliest to see what the next day was... I sometimes think that brother would sneak them open ahead of time.. but anyways, I love them. My mom sent me one my first year I was up here and the last 2 years Scott's mom got me them. I love it! Can't wait till Christmas!
I love the Christmas season, it is so great.

My Best Coconut Cookies...

Take this recipe, make it and eat it! It is so yummy and fast... LOVE IT!


ok... So what you need

Oven @ 325
2/3 c sweetened condensed milk
1 large egg white
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 tsp. almond extract
3 1/2 c shredded coconut

Mix everything, but the coconut, together real good.
Mix in the coconut. Drop on parchment paper.
Bake 20 minutes, or so- keep a good eye on them. You want them golden on top.
Take them out, let them cool, and eat!

Twilight...

So yes, if I was with my sisters, we would have all gone to the new Twilight together and there would be NO QUESTION... So missing that and longing to be with them, I went to the midnight movie still with some of my roomies. People who I told that I went at midnight looked at me like I'm crazy with the look that said "Shouldn't you be too old for that?" I just look back with a huge smile and was thinking of my sisters.
Well the movie was good but the books were better. Love the story...
